Got out with Sam to do a little scouting for upcoming charters inside Tampa Bay near St. Petersburg. Conditions were overcast, windy and cold but we made the long paddle out anyway knowing there would still be fish to be caught.

After almost a two mile paddle we began wading around the mullet schools with the wind at our back looking for hungry fish. The tide was low and incoming and the bite was slow at first, but after the tide filled in the fish started to turn on. We caught several big speckled trout in the 20-24″ range with a few low slot and one over slot red to go along with them. We had to work a little harder to get the bites we got today, but in the end it was a success.

All the fish today were caught on Slayer Inc SSB soft plastic in golden brim.
