Captain Spencer has been a Fishing Charter Business Owner for over 10 years with two successful Tampa Bay charter businesses and both with excellent reputations.
Captain Spencer loves inshore and nearshore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and the Tampa Bay. If he didn’t have to work, you would find him on Tampa Bay having a great time fishing. He is passionate about the professional fishing best practices he developed during his fishing career.

Captain Spencer put us on the fish from the moment we got out there. We had a pair of double hits very early. As the wind picked up, we moved to a new location that was also on fire. As the wind continued to pick up, he found us a few more spots for us that were manageable to fish based on the conditions. He put us on the fish, and it was a blast. Capt Spencer did a great job! He found us lots of fish to catch! Snook, Red fish, Sea Trout, mackerel. We had some seasoned anglers, and some novice in our group. Capt Spencer worked to make sure we all had a great experience. He taught us all about fishing in that area. For the novice he baited the hook, cast for us and helped take the fish off. Captain Spencer is a St Pete native and knows where to find the tarpon and how to get hooked up. My wife and I went out with him on a Friday afternoon and saw just about every other tarpon guide out there hunting for tarpon. What made Spencer different is that we stayed away from the pack of boats and spotted the arriving schools first. This happened twice. Each time, the rest of the pack followed us. Not only does Spencer put you on the fish first, he also teaches you how to hookup and land them. This was our first tarpon trip and it was unforgettable. Unlike the other types of charter, where passengers are bound to the boat, these charters are customized itineraries with land activities. The itinerary starts with a 4-hour inshore fishing component, the land activities may include beach time with swimming, lunch at a restaurant, exploring or sightseeing.
These charters are focused on Fort De Soto, John's Pass, and Gulf Sunset. The Gulf Sunset charter is a 2 hours trip where your party is transported to an island and can relax on lawn chairs to see the sunset. The Fort De Soto & John's Pass charters have inshore fishing and fixed itinerary of land activities applicable to that location.

Captain Spencer has over 20 years of experience working in several local boat charter businesses and has owned two fishing charter businesses in Tampa Bay. He’s fully experienced in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay for inshore and near-shore fishing. Captain Spencer is US Coast Guard certified and holds a USCG Master Captain license. Captain Spence started seriously fishing at the age of 8 years olds.
